Wish I could say it was a breeze. She kept sticking her tongue out and thus pushing the food out (which I later learned was normal). After about 10 minutes of this, and her consuming maybe an entire teaspoon in total, she got upset and started to cry. So we stopped. And I breastfed her and put her down for her nap. Sigh.
So I went on the internet to research some more and wished I had done that BEFORE attempting to feed her. Well I learned my 'gruel' wasn't watery enough, my demeanor wasn't happy enough and my expectations in general weren't reasonable enough.
So tomorrow we try again.
In other news...
Nikhita is in the preliminary stages of learning to crawl! She gets on her hands and knees and 'rocks' in an attempt to move. Then she plops down and somehow is a couple of inches behind from where she began. She does this a few times consecutively and manages to be a few feet backwards from where she started from :)
On her hands and knees 'rocking'
Down she plops and is in a different spot
Eventually she is off her playmat and on the carpet
Very soon, we will need to put her in a playpen or something.
*my phototaking skills have deteriorated greatly over the years. Plus, it doesn't help that I keep trying to take photos while the baby is moving... :p

Yay, Nikhita! I can't believe I/m here in my different country missing all these milestones. Am so glad for your blog! Whoo, yes, Nikhita will be crawling very soon 0 might even start with the soldier belly-crawl - Leopard Crawl, I think it's called. But yes, their first solid meal is a misnomer- absolutely nothing solid about it, except the effective barricades their tongues are!
