Christmas '08

This post comes 2 months too late but then better than never....

Christmas 2008 was spent with my side of the family in Singapore as usual. It was Nikhita's first Christmas which made it mostly exciting only for me :P

Nikhita with Shana (my niece), her new best friend

To prepare for it, I made her a dress. I think I have inspired myself to start a tradition of making her a Christmas dress every year (I also made Henry a shirt and a dress for myself so I might have complicated matters for the future I think).

For the most part, it was a quiet Christmas. Nikhita was already asleep by the time we started to open the presents, which traditionally has occurred after all the guests have left our Christmas Day Open House...meaning that it's normally around midnight before the kids get to attack the stuff under the tree.

So Nikhita got to open her presents the next morning.

It was obvious she enjoyed ripping off the wrapper the most.

But she liked discovering the content as well,

even the ones which were bigger than her.

Her good spirits lasted a little while longer after that

...and when she decided she had had enough, she effectively made it known of course!
